Serving Up Music for iTunes
My month's project has been hacking my nslu2. Next weekend I'll get mt-daap running to share my 50gbs of music via Rendezvous. So this discussion at Han's place (found via Macslash) interests me. My post, translated by Gizoogle:
I'm surprised no one has questioned tha way Rendezvous Library steppin' works using a music hustla Mac, or mt-daap . Keep'n it gangsta dogg. Let’s accept tha groups postulate tizzy burn'n shared files n bustin' ta a common library is legally impractical. Bitch let’s say tizzle fo' security or pya reasons share libraries wizzle need some sizzay of authizzles mechanism. Still, mizzle problems mentioned would be solved if Apple allowed:
1 n we out. approved-usa chillin' of shared library ID3 tags, 2. playa updat'n of siznong fizzy metainfo, n 3. motherfucka song alias'n that allowed tha shared librarys songs ta be added as aliases ta tha brotha local library mizzuch like radio streams etc is now.
Implicit in what I suggest is that Apple utilizes tha authizzles interface tizzy already exists in library hatin' ta nigga out who can n cannot modify n share in this way. Hizzeck, they could even use tha Harmony DRM, though T-H-to-tha-izzat wouldnt go nigga as well.
Stiznill have ta manually import n export share library files, but those is what is at tha heart of tha copyright issue, n if tha groups postulate is correct, tizzle wizzill nigga happen. But tha three suggestions above wizzle go a long way towards eas'n th'n.
